A Passion for Motorsports
From a young age, Gert Leisson’s fascination with speed and precision ignited a deep passion for motorsports. Growing up in Estonia, Gert began his journey around 20 years ago, initially getting involved in street racing. For about five years, he honed his skills and built his reputation in the underground racing scene.
Early Challenges and Triumphs
Gert’s first major project was a Subaru Impreza WR1, a car he meticulously tuned to compete at higher levels. Despite his dedication, the car eventually broke down, leaving Gert without a vehicle for some time. This setback only fueled his determination.
Building the Most Powerful Audi
Turning his focus to Audi S4, Gert embarked on a project that would define his career. Every winter, he invested all his time and resources into rebuilding and enhancing his S4, pushing the boundaries of what was possible. His relentless pursuit of excellence led him to innovate when market solutions fell short. Together with a friend, he invented a billet girdle and a dry sump system specifically for the Audi 2.7 engine. These innovations enabled Gert to build the world’s most powerful factory block Audi today.
Record-Breaking Achievement
In 2017, Gert’s dedication paid off spectacularly when he set a record at the One Mile Challenge, reaching a speed of 353 km/h in the B-class category—a record that still stands today. His prowess in motorsports is not limited to this achievement; Gert has participated in numerous other competitions, consistently bringing home victories.
Overcoming Adversity
The journey to success was not without its challenges. During the development and testing phases, Gert broke over 20 engines. Each failure was a lesson that drove him to refine and improve his techniques and designs further.
A New Chapter
Earlier this year, Gert decided to sell his Audi to Finland, marking the end of an era. However, his passion for innovation and high-performance engineering ensures that new projects are always on the horizon. The motorsports community can certainly expect more groundbreaking work from him in the future.
